Ashburn (Nov. 10, 2010) - Briar Woods High School announced Wednesday that Bruce Lipson has been hired as the head boys varsity lacrosse coach.
Lipson has been the varsity assistant coach and offensive coordinator at Briar Woods the past two years. In 2008, Coach Lipson coached the Briar Woods JV team to their first winning season posting an 8-1 record.
He grew up in Baltimore and played high school lacrosse for McDonogh High School. His college career was spent at the University of Virginia where he lettered as a freshman, playing offensive midfield, and was the team's face off specialist. While playing for UVA, he was selected to the ACC scholastic athletic team.
Briar Woods Athletic Director Jerry Carter states, "We are excited to have Coach Lipson take over our lacrosse program. His enthusiasm,experience, and knowledge of the game will ensure that our program continues to go forward and provide continuity for our players."
